16. The two dimwits that trashed Rather so badly--- you really show your ignorance & total lack of class with your use of the f-word. Wouldn't your Momma be proud! I don't care how old my "kids" are (29 & 31), I'd still ream them royally if I caught them using that word in public in any fashion.

I like Katie Couric, but she's a terrible news anchor. Rather was still one of the best in the business when he left CBS. And I still suspect there was a lot to that story about Bush that was true but they just couldn't come up with a paper trail. Any idiiot who has watched King George knows that the man is a master at hiding things, manipulating things, and just plain lying to the American public. Rather was just the only news anchor with enough balls to go after him.

Out of curiosity-- to the dolts who posted the f-word comments, have you EVER even watched the network evening newscasts? Probably not.

20. Well he is a fine person to talk about "dumping down" and "tarting up" news stories. Isn't that why he got fired? He did a good dump down on Bush or was that a tarting up? Another hypocrite still angry because they "claim" he was replaced due to his old age.

Since I posted the F-Word I will respond to you. I never watched the evening news because there are other places for news. I prefer Fox New since they are fair and balanced. I don't like one sided news. Just because I posted the F-Word does not mean I don't watch the news.


I just think he misses being on TV. He got what he deserved and know he's sounds like a old washed up cry baby.


I haven't seen him since he was fired and all he can do is make a comeback by bashing women. Not about Paris it's really about who replaced him. A woman and he see's woman as his inferior.
He's a sexist.

Please can some of his former employees go on Fox news a rip him a new one.

25. It's a shame that someone who used to be a respected newsman feels the weird need to trash his career. His "Rather-isms" and fondness for jumping the gun to be the first with the 'important' story started his decline. His big mouth is finishing the job. Want to pick on someone? Pick on Barbara Walters, another formerly respected newsperson who will do anything it seems for ratings, even hiring bullies for controversy and sympathising with over-coddled socialites and their parents.

29. A disgruntled employee, but butt, Rather coudnt be more right, This idiotic preocupation with Hilton has been the dumbing down of news.. He is a wise, professional, smart man. Just like when we were smothered to death by the Anna Nicloe Smith story, even the Anna Nicole Smith story had more reason to be covered heavily by news. Annas story involved the death of two people. Anyone who calls Rather a disgruntled employee needs to rearrange their priorities, fast. There are milllions of people who go to jail all the time over the same reason Hilton did. Leave this damned story alone. Im sure Hilton has had enough, also.
