Report Confirms Owen Wilson Attempted Suicide

A "call to service" report from the Santa Monica Police Department, obtained by the television show "EXTRA," shows that the 911 call from Owen Wilson's home was made because the actor tried to commit suicide.

The call was received shortly after noon on Sunday and was "cleared" some five hours later. "EXTRA" is reporting that it was one of Owen's brothers who found him. Owen was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica and later moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Owen Wilson released this brief statement to TMZ through his rep: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

256. I'll be semi-short and because we all need a good laugh, at least I not only find it ironic, it's pretty dang funny when you think about it. The Royal Tenenbaums when his brother Luke's character slit's his wrist in a failed suicide attempt, has me rolling on the floor laughing know. Another idea; could The Royal Tenenbaums be Owen's suicide note to fans? Kind of like author Hunter S. Thompson did with one of his last articles.

259. Its very funny and ironic that my citics pick the names they do. Take Gigi for example; despite winning several acadamy awards 1958's Gigi (god I hate musicals) is considered to give rebirth to the modern musical. It was directed by Vincente Minnelli both the Father of the modern musical and that great picture of mental health, Liza Minnelli. But thats not the sorta irony-that rests with Liza' Mother Judy Garland. Garland was found dead cause of death was accidental overdose of barbiturates. See why Owen should be locked up. We dont need more Liza types being left over. Ted is even more ironic for me because an ex-friend who's a veggie today and even if he was'nt he would still be disowned. Why is he a veggie? Well my friends that's what happen's when you use a nail gun to attempt suicide and fail. Ted always was a loser!

262. I was sad to hear about Owen's suicide attempt.

I hope that this tragedy will bring some attention to what a torturous disease depression is. It doesn't matter what you have in life materially in life. Depression makes life so painful that you can barely tolerate existing.

It's horrible that anyone lives in such pain. You have to be in some extreme pain to try to kill yourself. People who are judging him are ignorant and need to learn some compassion.

264. I just wanted to say that I hope Owen gets the help he needs.
He is such a great and accomplished actor, and I sincerely hope that the next time we talk about him, It will be because of how he makes us laugh, not because of some tradgedy that befalls him. If you read this, Owen, know that alot of people arew pulling for you. God Bless.

265. It's kind of ironic that there are so mane famous people who worked their behinds off to get where they are, and yet they can't handle it. Is this because they're a different tytpe of personality, and possibly bit unstable, to begin with (which is why many get into acting/music)? Too many of these people turn to drugs to 'solve' their problems. It amazes me that someone who would work so hard to get where they are would blow it all by snorting it ip, shooting it up, boozing it up (e.g. Lindsay Lohan is a prime example). When you think of all the people struggling to make their bills each month, who wish they had 1/10th of what some of these celebs have, this spoiled, overindulgent, idiotic behavior is even more appalling. It's too bad that more people won't stop glorifying these celebs (including sports 'stars') - who are no different than anyone else; they simply get paid ridiculous amounts of money to do a job - and realize that most fo them need help for things they've chosen to do to themselves.
