Report Confirms Owen Wilson Attempted Suicide

A "call to service" report from the Santa Monica Police Department, obtained by the television show "EXTRA," shows that the 911 call from Owen Wilson's home was made because the actor tried to commit suicide.

The call was received shortly after noon on Sunday and was "cleared" some five hours later. "EXTRA" is reporting that it was one of Owen's brothers who found him. Owen was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica and later moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Owen Wilson released this brief statement to TMZ through his rep: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."

78. This man deserves his privacy. He is a good and decent man. Shame on the person who leaked his information to begin with. There are HIPAA laws out there especially when it pertains to mental health issues - very strict rules! I hope they find the creep who leaked this. God speed Owen. 82. I'm hoping Owen go's AWOL in the hospital and tries to kill himself again. Only this time he gets a hold of tons of medication and doesn't complete killing himself, but winds up having a massive stroke instead and becomes horribly disfigured like the elephant man... That would be heaven!!!

someone choosing to end their life cannot expect privacy. Anyone not just a celebrity can have the police report pulled on them. it only cost a few bucks. It would be in my small town paper if I tried to take my own life or saved a cat from a tall tree!.
I am sad for the brother that found him, what a tragic thing for a sibling to have to deal with and a selfish act no matter how troubled the person is The posts that condem others for their free thoughts are here useing the same space posting thier own!

84. As a "Survivor of Suicide" of my fathers suicide, I pray that he does not have the strength to follow thru. I just keep praying that this will not keep happening to other families as it did mine.

85. So sad! I can't imagine why he would even consider taking his life. He's so talented, cute and has so much going for him. I guess money doesn't buy happiness all of the time. I hope he gets the help he needs and gets back on his feet soon!
