With hits like "Close to You," "We Only Just Begun" and "Top of the World," Richard Carpenter became famous as one-half of the '70s and '80s brother/sister musical group The Carpenters. Guess what he looks like now!

Ronnie Wood is 61, just out of rehab and still somehow snagged himself a hot, 20 something Russian GF!

We got the Rolling Stone in London this morning leaving the place he shares with his lovah and he was in a great mood. Hope the girl's not in it for the money -- as the UK tabs are now reporting he might have to shell 50 million pounds to his estranged wife in their divorce settlement!

The dude who plays guitar for the Grateful Dead -- Bob Weir -- broke his ribs riding on a tour bus. The good news -- he will get by!
We're told Weir was truckin' along in a tour bus when it had to stop short. Bob was standing and fell when the driver slammed on the brakes.
A rep tells us it hurt for Bob "to breathe, hold the guitar, and laugh."
Weir was able to finish the tour with his band, Bob Weir and the Ratdogs, but had to cancel a recent fundraiser because battling broken ribs and a cold was just too much to handle.
At least now he's got an excuse to find some medicinal alternatives...

Janet Jackson's quick trip to the hospital was not going to get in the way of Jermaine Dupri's night.
The R&B impresario hit up Patron's Music In Motion Tour Party at Marquee in New York City last night. Spies inside tell us he partied it up with friends, caught a T.I. performance, and didn't leave until 1:30 AM.
Hope he sent flowers.

Janet Jackson was rushed to a hospital yesterday in Montreal and had to cancel her show, according to her reps.
The singer "got suddenly ill" during her sound check, says a statement from W&W Public Relations, and went to an unnamed hospital. She's being monitored, but no other details of her condition are available.
A rep for the concert promoter said they got word just minutes before the gig was supposed to begin -- LL Cool J was the opener.
Jackson cancelled her show in Detroit on Friday also at the last minute, citing "production constraints," and rescheduled.

Following in the heterosexual footsteps of Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg, Pete Wentz has contributed money to fight Prop 8 and keep same-sex marriage legal in California.

Although wife Ashlee Simpson (who is about to pop) was nowhere in sight, the Fall Out Boy showed up at a No on Prop 8 fundraiser at Gallery 1988 in Hollywood on Sunday. Other civil rights supporters in the house included "Scrubs" star Sarah Chalke and members of Linkin Park.
Pitt and Spielberg have contributed $100K each to stop the anti-gay ballot initiative. No word on how much Pete donated.

Nothing in life is free -- unless you're famous -- but this time freebees have put Metallica's bass player in the middle of a serious legal battle.
Their new bassist, Robert Trujillo, had an existing promotional deal with Fernades Guitars in North Hollywood. For being able to use his likeness in advertising, Fernandes was giving Robert a pile of custom basses.
But Metallica has its own promo deal with ESP Guitars -- and now that Trujillo is an asset of Metallicorp, their lawyers have slapped Fernandes with a cease and desist letter demanding they no longer use Robert or Metallica's name or likeness.
Rock and roll used to be much cooler than this.

Comedian Wayne Brady has just done the funniest bit of his career -- he's released an R&B album. Hi-larious!

While filming a ridiculous music video, Brady pulled out all the '90s boy band stops and sang soaked in the staged rain. Really? For the love of the Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, *NSYNC, O-Town ...
Please forget the lyrics.

Aerosmith's 60-year-old lead singer Steven Tyler not only knows what the Internet is, but he's also suing a group of unknowns for impersonating him and his girlfriend on two separate blogs.

In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. Superior Court, Steven claims some cyber-wannabes have been using his identity, as well as his girlfriend's, since 2007. In the suit, Tyler claims the impersonators have posted "pictures ... intimate details about [his] private life, including [Tyler's] relationship with his girlfriend, his children and his mother." Tyler says the stuff the bloggers wrote about his mom especially pisses him off because she recently passed away.
Google removed the sites in December of 2007 after Steven raised hell -- but shockingly, they reappeared on the web anyway.
